Abstract

The white button mushroom (Agaricus brunnescens Pack), also referred as temperate mushroom is popularly known as 'Khumb' in Northern India and in the recent past has become one of the important cash crops of mushroom growers. particularly in Himachal Pradesh. The state due to its varied an roc11matic conditions offers vast potentialities for commercialisation of Agaricus brunnescens during most of the period in a year at various places.
